  • Breaking the Pomegranate!

The pomegranate was sacred to Hera, Demeter, and Persephone — goddesses associated with fertility, rebirth, and the cycle of life and death. The fruit, with its many red seeds, symbolized plenty, prosperity, and eternal life.

On New Year’s Day, just after midnight or in the morning, a member of the household steps outside holding a fresh pomegranate. After saying a short blessing or a wish, they re-enter the house with their right foot — believed to bring good luck — and smash the pomegranate at the threshold or just inside the door. The more seeds that scatter, the greater the fortune, health, and happiness the person is believed to have in the coming year.

  • Greece

Greek culture is one of the cornerstones of Western civilization. Its legacy lives on through philosophy, democracy, art, architecture, and storytelling. From the wisdom of Socrates to the myths of Olympus, Greece has gifted the world with ideas and symbols that still shape how we think, create, and see the world today.

To discover Greek culture is to connect with something timeless. Whether through ancient ruins, epic poems, or meaningful design, embracing this heritage enriches our modern lives with depth, wonder, and a sense of continuity.
